Do you, like us, have dogs? If so, if you come to East Cowes, West Cowes or Gurnard it’s good to know where there are dog friendly beaches. Our girls love to swim and who are we to deprive them?

In West Cowes, we have a shingle beach which stretches from the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes to Gurnard. Dogs are not permitted on these beaches between 1 May and 30 September. This does not include registered assistance dogs.

However, from the slipway at Egypt Point to the steps at Gurnard (where the Beach huts start), dogs are allowed all year round. There is also a beach with access behind the Gurnard Sailing Club which is available all year round too.

Where East Cowes Esplanade is concerned, from the slipway opposite the toilets on the esplanade up to the first set of steps past the toilets, between the groynes. dogs are not permitted between 1 May and 30 September. This does not include registered assistance dogs.
