Tony Westmore

I am a Marine and Landscape Artist who works in oils, watercolour and acrylics. Having a passion for sketching outdoors and painting en plein air, these sketches and outdoor studies form the basis of much of my work. My acrylics are more colourful and loose and I try to work to find an abstraction in the landscape.

Portraiture has become an important part of my work in recent years, and drawing and painting from life, forms an important part of my work in this field of art.

I have been Teaching art for the past twenty years, with twice weekly classes in Gurnard, together with leading Painting Holidays both in this country and abroad together with running painting classes on cruise ships.

I have exhibited with the RSMA and the RI at The Mall Galleries in London and my Marine work is in collections world wide in Shipping Company offices and in Wardrooms on Royal Naval vessels. I am a longtime member of the Cowes Art Group and the Isle of Wight Art Club of which I am currently President.
