Start: Royal Yacht Squadron, The Parade, Cowes, PO31 7QT
End: Egypt Point, Egypt Esplanade, Cowes, PO31 8BU
Distance: 0.6 miles

This is a lovely wander along the seafront with the stony beach on one side and Cowes Green on the other for most of the way. The last section is alongside the road but the esplanade is wide so it’s a nice walk. You’ll see lovely views of the Solent and the mainland as well as pass some interesting buildings such as the house where Sir Winston Churchill’s parents met.

Half way along the walk is the Cabin on the green cafe, where you can get a cup of tea or an ice cream, and near Egypt Point is the New Holmwood Hotel where you can dine in style or just have a cup of tea.

If you’re taking your dog with you, bear in mind that dogs are not allowed on the beach from the Royal Yacht Squadron to the slipway near Egypt Point between 1st May and 31st October. After the slipway they can use the beach up to Gurnard.
